Who We Are

Bostonia finances real estate, energy, and sustainable infrastructure projects for both the public and private sector. The firm has executed more than $18 billion in financing for its clients, participating in many programs and credit structures that were the first of their kind. Bostonia prides itself on integrity and innovation with a focus on client service and partnerships.

Bostonia provides investment banking, capital markets, asset ownership, and XaaS solutions to owners, developers, energy services companies, and other services providers and their clients through Bostonia Partners, and its affiliates, Bostonia Finance Company and BFC Capital, a FINRA member broker-dealer.

Our range of services is expansive: advisory, structuring and M&A; debt, equity and tax equity; project finance; and capital asset ownership, management, and acquisition.

Our transaction experience spans many types of clients: real estate owners and developers, project developers and sponsors, utilities, federal government, state – local government, commercial and industrial, as well as the institutional market, including health care, higher education, and other social infrastructure providers, among others.

Our project experience highlights include:

  • Real Estate: office, retail, industrial, warehouse and special purpose facilities.
  • Energy: distributed generation, energy efficiency, CHP, microgrids, renewable energy including geothermal, wind, solar, and battery storage, telecom, software licenses, fuel service contracts, and government utility privatization and public-private partnerships.
  • Sustainable Infrastructure: biomass, biogas, waste-to-energy, water conservation, wastewater treatment and reuse, stormwater mitigation, hydroelectric, agriculture, and data centers.

Anita P. Molino

Ms. Molino has over 35 years of experience as an investment banker and finance professional and is a co-founder of the firm. Ms. Molino has extensive capital markets experience focusing on real estate, energy, project finance, and the securitization markets. She was an early participant in the nascent securitization markets for real estate leases and contract finance and has pioneered the introduction of a variety of credits into the capital markets, involving highly structured transactions of which several were firsts of their kind. She has served as an advisor to several public and private entities relating to real estate, energy, and public policy. Ms. Molino has been a frequent speaker and involved in several national organizations and has authored several White Papers on multiple topics. Ms. Molino also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for the firm’s broker/dealer entity. Ms. Molino received her Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Copenhagen University, Denmark and her Master of Industrial Technology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Peter Y. Flynn

Peter Y. Flynn has over 25 years’ experience in finance and law and is a co-founder of the firm. Mr. Flynn has financed over $3 billion of energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, and other infrastructure projects in the federal, municipal, and commercial markets in the US and Canada. Mr. Flynn is a frequent speaker and author on topics including financing of complex energy and infrastructure projects, public private partnerships and service contract structures. Mr. Flynn serves as a member of the planning committee for the Department of Energy’s “Energy Exchange” training and trade show and is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Energy Services Companies. He is a graduate of Boston University School of Law and Syracuse University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Thomas F. Dooney has over 30 years’ experience as an investment banker and professional manager in the financial services industry. Mr. Dooney has served in numerous executive management roles including Managing Director and Co- Head of the Municipal Group of First Union Securities, Inc., President and Chief Executive Officer of CoreStates Securities Corp, Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., and a Product Manager of Market Axess, an internet-based trading platform created by eight global dealers. He is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Josh R. Evans

Josh Evans is a Managing Director and leads the firm’s Credit Tenant Lease and Structured Lease Backed Securities practice. He specializes in structuring and placing creative debt solutions for commercial real estate owners and developers. Mr. Evans has more than 20 years of experience and has transacted on more than $3 billion of lease-backed financings for governmental, corporate, health care, industrial, university, and special purpose properties. Mr. Evans holds securities licenses 7, 63, 79 and SIE. He received a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University.

Sherry Horn

Sherry Horn has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Ms. Horn has experience in accounting, compliance, finance, and business administration. At Bostonia, Ms. Horn is the Compliance Coordinator and is responsible for business operations. Ms. Horn has worked in several areas of business, including North Bridge Capital, as well as project-based work at Met Life, John Hancock, and Fallon Hines & O’Connor. Ms. Horn was an asset manager at Copley Real Estate Advisors (now AEW Capital Management). She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Boston College School of Management.

Nathaniel Leighninger

Nathaniel O. Leighninger serves as an Investment Banking Analyst assisting with all the firm’s investment banking activities. Nathaniel previously worked for over a year at a Toronto based investment bank, working energy and infrastructure mandates. During his summer in college, he interned at a large New York based hedge fund, focused on alternative credit strategies. Nathaniel graduated from Haverford College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and majoring in economics and history. Nathaniel is a Canadian-American residing in the United States and is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada.
