Who We Are

Bostonia was founded in 1998 to provide real estate and energy financings in the federal sector. The firm has expanded its services and industry coverage and has provided over $15B in financings for a range of real estate, energy, and sustainable infrastructure assets for both government and private clients. The firm prides itself on integrity and innovation with a focus on client service and partnerships, and its principals have created or participated in many financings, programs, and credit structures that were the first of their kind.

Team

Anita P. Molino

Managing Partner

Ms. Molino has over 30 years of experience as an investment banker and finance professional and is a co-founder of the firm. Ms. Molino has extensive capital markets experience focusing on real estate, energy, project finance, and the securitization markets. She has an extensive background with securitizations and asset-backed financings and has pioneered the introduction of a variety of credits into the capital markets, involving highly structured financings and several first of its kind. She has served as an advisor to several public and private entities relating to real estate, energy, and public policy. Ms. Molino is currently also serving as the Chief Compliance Officer for the firm’s broker/dealer entity. Ms. Molino received her undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Copenhagen University, Denmark and her master’s degree in Industrial Technology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Peter Y. Flynn

Managing Partner

Peter Y. Flynn has over 25 years’ experience in finance and law and is a co-founder of the firm. Mr. Flynn has financed over $3 billion of energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, and other infrastructure projects in the federal, municipal, and commercial markets in the US and Canada. Mr. Flynn is a frequent speaker and author on topics including financing of complex energy and infrastructure projects, public private partnerships and service contract structures. Mr. Flynn serves as a member of the planning committee for the Department of Energy’s “Energy Exchange” training and trade show and is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Energy Services Companies. He is a graduate of Boston University School of Law and Syracuse University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Thomas F. Dooney

Managing Director

Thomas F. Dooney has over 30 years experience as an investment banker and professional manager in the financial services industry. Mr. Dooney has served in numerous executive management roles including Managing Director and Co-Head of the Municipal Group of First Union Securities, Inc., President and Chief Executive Officer of CoreStates Securities Corp, Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., and a Product Manager of Market Axess, an internet-based trading platform created by eight global dealers. He is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Josh R. Evans

Managing Director

Josh Evans is a Managing Director and leads the firm’s Credit Tenant Lease and Structured Lease Backed Securities practice. He specializes in structuring and placing creative debt solutions for commercial real estate owners and developers. Mr. Evans has more than 20 years of experience and has transacted on more than $3 billion of lease-backed financings for governmental, corporate, health care, industrial, university, and special purpose properties. Mr. Evans holds securities licenses 7, 63, 79 and SIE. He received a Masters of Business Administration from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University.

Scott J. Foster

Managing Director

Scott J. Foster has over 25 years of experience in federal energy and infrastructure project finance. Over the course of his career, Mr. Foster has completed over $5 billion of financings covering all asset classes essential to the U.S. Government, including information technology, telephony, and service contracts. Mr. Foster is a frequent speaker on financing government infrastructure projects and is the author of “Financing Large Infrastructure Projects” published in Submarine Telecoms Forum Magazine, and is the co-author of two papers presented at ASME Small Modular Reactors Symposiums: “The Business Case for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs)” and “The U.S. Federal Market as an Early Adopter of SMRs.” Mr. Foster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Business Administration from Marymount University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Foster also served in the U.S. Navy/Naval Security Group Activity, with top security clearance, as a linguist and air crew member on aircraft carriers and land-based aircraft.

Sherry Horn

Director of Operations

Sherry Horn has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Ms. Horn has experience in accounting, compliance, finance, and business administration. At Bostonia, Ms. Horn is the Compliance Coordinator and is responsible for business operations. Ms. Horn has worked in several areas of business, including, North Bridge Capital as well as project-based work at Met Life, John Hancock and Fallon Hines & O’Connor. Ms. Horn was an asset manager at Copley Real Estate Advisors (now AEW Capital Management). She received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Boston College School of Management.

Ted Jenkins

Managing Director

Ted Jenkins is a creative investment banking professional with over 30 years of experience in advising, structuring, and arranging large fixed-asset financings across a wide variety of products. Prior to joining Bostonia, Mr. Jenkins was a Group Managing Director at PNC Equipment Finance for 4-years where he led a team offering advisory services to all industries as well as origination in the utility, energy, and financial services sectors. Prior to PNC, Mr. Jenkins was Founder of Global Structured Finance (GSF) Advisors, an independent FINRA registered boutique advisory firm representing both investors and issuers. Prior to GSF Advisors, Mr. Jenkins held Partner and/or Executive positions with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Structured Finance Group, and BTM Capital Corporation. He is a graduate of Colby College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics.

Jesse G. Kula

Senior Director

Jesse G. Kula has over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry and provides advisory, structuring, and placement services for Bostonia’s clients. Mr. Kula has worked on over $1 billion of infrastructure transactions, including energy efficiency, renewable and alternative energy, and distributed generation projects. Mr. Kula holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in English from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Spencer Patenaude

Associate

Spencer Patenaude joined Bostonia Partners in 2021. Prior to joining Bostonia, Mr. Patenaude held a variety of internships working in real estate development, brokerage, asset management, acquisitions, and institutional equity. At Bostonia, Mr. Patenaude is responsible for financial modeling, analysis, and research across the real estate, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure industries. Mr. Patenaude is a recent alumnus of Denison University where he graduated cum laude while earning a Bachelor of Arts in Global Commerce and History. At Denison, Mr. Patenaude was a member of the men’s basketball team and served as the team’s captain during his senior season.

In Memoriam

Mark S. White (1954-2021)

All of us at Bostonia Partners are saddened by the passing of our good friend and colleague Mark White on February 1, 2021.

Mark was a beloved member of the Bostonia family for over 10 years. He made tremendous contributions to our work – leading many important initiatives for the team with his highly valued creativity and innovation. Mark approached his work and his life with incomparable kindness, wit and the ability to see the positive aspects of life in any situation. Mark never hesitated to support his colleagues in all of their endeavors both professionally and personally, and he was often a mentor to those at the beginning of their careers. We know our clients and partners experienced these qualities in him as well.

Mark will be dearly missed by all of us, and we share our deepest condolences with his beloved family and his many, many friends. May his memory provide peace and comfort to all.
